How did you do it?  Did you modify the style.css?  Which one is the background color on the edges?

I'm a real newbie (in fact this is the first theme, I've ever changed), but I hope I can answer your question. I used the Themetweaker app to change area and font colors - had to work around it a bit, but was able to figure stuff out. For the gradations in the boxes, since those were images, I used Photoshop to make changes. And as far as any changes to code, I made only very minor ones (if any).
