Themes Update (Feb 29, 2012)

Hi guys, we’ve recently updated all our themes framework to bring you more awesome features and more security! We are using secure code techniques and we’re happy to say that our Framework now is more secure than ever.

How to update?

First of all, let me say that All your customization will be safe!

You should update only “framework part” of the theme, so all custom coding/styling will stay intact. Just follow the steps to update your theme to the latest version:

  • Download new theme version from NattyWP member area.
  • Save .zip file and do Unzip to some local folder.
  • Upload and replace only the following folders:

    * functions whole folder to wp-content/THEME_NAME/

    * include/settings-theme.php file to wp-content/THEME_NAME/include/

TUTS: Uploading custom Logo and Favicon

After you activate new copy of NattyWP theme you’ll probably want to change default theme logo. It’s very simple to do, just login to WordPress Dashboard and open Theme Options page to display all the theme configuration options.

Security Update

Appearance -> Editor

The vulnerability found in the TimThumb image resizing script, which we used in our themes for dynamic image resizing.

We’d highly recommend that you download the latest version of the theme zip and update your thumb.php script.

Alternatively, you just copy the latest version of timthumb and replace your thumb.php file in your theme folder.

How to Update?

To fix vulnerability go to Appearance > Editor and look for a theme file called thumb.php then copy fixed version code from here and paste the Timthumb code in there to replace the old version.

TUTS: Adding slide images

During this short tutorial I’ll show you how to add new slideshow images and configure basic slide settings. First, you need to prepare slide images you’d like to display on your homepage. It is not necessary to resize images if you’ve enabled Dynamic Image Resizing tool on your Theme Options panel. Resize script will generate preview images for you so you don’t need to worry about the dimensions. However, you should not attach very small images for slideshow to pervert image distortion.
